Antonia BAUMANN

I am a first-year PhD student from Austria, working at the University of Vienna as a research assistant on a third-party funded project focusing on expertise in the workplace. I am also a freelance Speech-To-Text interpreter. I speak German, French, English, some Spanish and Austrian Sign Language. My research interests include sociological and socio-cognitive aspects of translation/interpreting as well as workplace research.

Hao CHEN

I am from Shanghai, China, and I am a teacher and researcher in the College of Foreign Language and Literature at Fudan University. My research interests are in cognitive linguistics, psycholinguistics and neurolinguistics. I speak Chinese, English and Spanish.

Anna B. DIMAS FURTADO

I am a Research Assistant in Corpus Linguistics and Data Science at the University of Galway, Ireland. I am responsible for data management, collection and analysis of religious multilingual texts. I hold a master in Technology for Translation and Interpreting and a BA in Foreign Languages Applied to Multilingualism from the University of Brasilia.

DU Meng, 杜梦

I am a PhD candidate in Interpreting Studies at the University of Leeds, UK. My PhD research applies eyetracking methods to investigate the role of non-verbal language in interpreters’ cognitive processing in simultaneous interpreting. A life explorer, amateur pianist, and photographer—currently creating sunshine for this world.

Chiara Astrid GEBBIA

I received a PhD in Linguistics from the Universities of Palermo, Italy. My main interests cover the application of metaphor research to translation and second language acquisition. I am currently a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Agder, Norway, where I investigate translators’metaphorical selves as indicators of adaptive expertise. I am also conducting research on the conceptualization of emotions with Dr. Marcin TROJSZCZAK.

HE Haoshen, 何浩申

I am a 2nd year PhD student in Translation Studies at Durham University, UK. I am interested in cognitive translation & interpreting studies, corpus-based translation/interpreting studies and English/Chinese comparative studies. This is my first time to visit Spain and I look forward to a meaningful academic voyage with all of you.

HE Sui, 贺穗

I completed my doctorate training at UCL in 2022. I am a lecturer in translation and interpreting at Swansea University, UK. My research revolves around metaphor translation and takes shapes in different contexts including popular science, student wellbeing, and modern Chinese history (I know...). I am a theatre-goer, amateur singer and professional foodie waiting to explore Cartagena (and Spanish!).

JIA Yichen, 贾亦忱

I recently graduated from Shanghai International Studies University with a major in English language and literature (interpreting studies). Currently, I am a first-year PhD student in Applied Linguistics at Singapore’s Nanyang Technological University, focusing on interpreting competence and assessment. I am eager to connect and collaborate with other scholars in the field.

LI Xiaoye, 李小叶

I am from Changsha (Hunan, China), a first year PhD student in translation studies at Hunan University. I am interested in cognitive translation studies and neural machine translation post-editing. In my spare time, I usually go swimming, sing and watch movies.

LIU Xinyuan, 刘馨媛

I am a Ph.D. student in Translation & Interpreting Studies at the School of English Studies, Shanghai International Studies University. My research interests include empirical approaches to translator and interpreter education, cognitive aspects, and learner factors in translation process research. As an aspiring independent scholar, I am committed to contributing innovative, insightful, and influential work to the academic community.

PENG Xinyang, 彭歆旸

I am from Changsha (Hunan province, China), and I am a visiting scholar in Hunan University. I completed my master's degree in Translation and Interpreting at the University of Melbourne. My research interests are in the cognitive processes and products of translation and interpreting, as well as translation post-editing studies.

Thomas PRINZIE

I grew up in Belgium but have also lived in North America. I have always been fascinated by the partially overlapping patterns of meaning and form in different languages. I also have some experience in translation, editorial work, and teaching. I have recently obtained a master's degree in linguistics and started a PhD with Professor Marie-Aude LEFER at UCLouvain’s Centre for English Corpus Linguistics.

Paulina Justyna ROZKRUT

I am a PhD student at Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań, Poland. I finished my Master’s studies in Polish-English conference interpreting and I am now working on my PhD project, which aims to investigate the use of automatic speech recognition (ASR) by trainee and professional interpreters. My research interests include computer-assisted interpreting, human-computer interaction, and corpus linguistics.

Silvia TERRIBILE

I am a PhD researcher in Translation Studies at the University of Manchester, UK, where I investigate productivity in the post-editing of neural machine translation. I'm originally from Italy, but I've lived all over the UK in the last few years. In my free time, I like swimming and painting. I look forward to learning more about cognitive translation & interpreting studies.

Ewa TOMCZAK

I have earned MA degrees in both English and psychology. Currently, I am a co-investigator on research projects exploring the reading and reception of translated texts (as part of the Read Me Project team) and verbal fluency in bidirectional translators. I am employed at the Department of Psycholinguistic Studies within the Faculty of English at Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznan, Poland.

Michaela TRLIFAJOVÁ

I am a PhD student and an interpreting lecturer at Palacký University Olomouc in the Czech Republic. I am interested in interpreter training, note-taking, and motivation. My dissertation focuses on various linguistic aspects in SI and will present exercises for training. I spend my free time with my three-year-old son. I like sports and music and run a local reading club for mothers.

Mathieu VEYS

I have an MA in Conference Interpreting from the University of Mons, Belgium, where I am currently working as a research and teaching assistant. My Ph.D. project, which I started this year, focuses on skills acquisition in sight translation as performed by trainee translators and interpreters.

María Inmaculada VICENTE LÓPEZ

I am a junior lecturer at the University of Murcia, where I teach translation technology and machine translation postediting. My PhD supervisors are Profs Ana Rojo and Purificación Meseguer. I have been working as a freelance translator, posteditor and revisor for 23 years, mainly in the localisation industry. I am interested in cognition and translation as human-computer interaction. I am focusing on translators’ emotional response to machine translation technology and post-editing process.

WANG Yifan

I am now a first-year PhD student in interpreting at Queen’s University Belfast, under the supervision of Dr HO Chen-En and Dr Piotr BLUMCZYNSKI. I am interested in cognitive interpreting studies, with the main research focus on the emotional stress and cognitive processes of interpreters in business negotiation. I like cooking and make-ups.

XU Qiliang, 徐启亮

I am currently a first-year PhD student in Translation Studies at Hong Kong Baptist University. My current project is to explore the interpreter's interaction with multimodal resources in onsite and remote simultaneous interpreting. It is my first time to participate in a research summer school.

XU Renwen, 许人文

I am a PhD candidate at the School of Modern Languages and Cultures, Durham University, UK. My research focuses on visitor reception studies of multimodal translation in museums.
